The Challenge Ahead
- Remotely monitor and operate the equipment within the production facilities including bulk material handling, processing, loadout, and tailings.
- Manage process performance by adjusting operating parameters in alignment with operating standards, collaborating with field operators.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance challenges with the equipment, raising work requests as required.
- Manage process upsets and respond to deviations and alarms.
- Perform pre-shift and shift close out reviews and reporting, including detailed handover with cross shift.
- Track and report on production losses and downtime.
- Contribute to RCAs and engage in problem-solving to develop countermeasures to issues.
- Monitor and report on process control system performance and other production improvement opportunities.
- Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
- Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Previous experience as a field or control room operator
- Hands-on experience implementing operational processes
- Knowledge of operational principles and policies
- Proficiency with computer and information technology
- Experience with Commissioning and/or operations start-up recommended
- Experience with potash operations recommended
Work Location
Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Occasional travel to the Jansen Mine Site will be required.
The position will initially operate on a Monday to Friday schedule, transitioning to a rotational roster as operations commence.
BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.
