About the Role
The BHP People Logistics Team are responsible for managing travel and accommodation services for the Copper South Australia Asset.
The People Logistics Specialist supports a team who provide exceptional customer service to deliver safe, reliable and inclusive accommodation and transport services for the Copper SA Asset. This role reports to the Superintendent People Logistics within the Integrated Services Team.
This is an Adelaide based position operating on a 5/2 roster arrangement with some occasional site travel required.
In this role you will:
- Support the EIS Department with regional strategic travel planning, scheduling, and demand v capacity management.
- Undertake key finance and budget management activities as they relate to People Logistics and Travel Management.
- Support the Asset with travel forecasting and modelling to support BaU Operations, Projects and medium to longer term strategic inputs.
- Shutdown and project mobilisation travel scheduling and end to end travel management.
- Accommodation and transport bookings and service optimisation.
- Regional customer engagement across all areas of workforce, community, and contract business partners.
- Proactively identify and implement improvement opportunities to People Logistics processes, improve service standards, productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Support the development and adherence to the Company’s travel and accommodation policies and guidelines.
- Support engagement of third-party accommodation requirements in accordance with Company policies and guidelines.
- Review, analyse and support with accommodation constraints through prioritisation and appropriate utilisation of assets.
- Support and contribute to the management and optimal operation of the People Logistics technology suite, including user management, vendor liaison and ongoing enhancements and development.
- Support the team and business with travel disruption management and recovery.
- Establish strong working relationships with the accommodation, transport, projects and shut down operations stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor the frontline People Logistics team in collaboration with the Supervisor/Superintendent in BOS practices and principles.
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

About You
- Ability to influence and mentor others in health and safety principles and behaviours
- Experience working with travel booking systems (e.g. SAM / Inflight) will be highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance or business and/or equivalent experience desirable.
- Exposure to other logistics management systems within similar industries and/or strong knowledge of the resource industry and exposure to FIFO travel and accommodation processes will be an advantage.
- Highly developed change management skills and culture building capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and presentations skills and the ability to engage across a range of levels.
- Analytical problem solver who demonstrates business acumen, with the ability to focus and prioritise critical deliverables to provide timely insights to stakeholders though the use of quality data analytics.
- Demonstrate effective and highly influential diverse customer engagement including an ability to constructively challenge ideas and build trusted relationships.
- Self-motivator who can drive performance and excellence from your direct reports whilst also providing a safe and collaborative work environment where inclusion and culture are of the utmost importance.
- The ability to work well as a part of a team.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt in a high-paced dynamic environment and execute Business Continuity Plans.
