About IROC

Perth City Square is home to BHP Iron Ore's state-of-the-art Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC). Our Control Centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using advanced real-time technology to provide visibility and control across the entire Iron Ore supply chain.

About the Role

Reporting to the Port Control Supervisor, you will be part of the Port Control team located in Perth and responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of all fixed plant equipment at our Port Hedland Port Operations.

We are currently seeking a Port Controller to contribute to the achievement of production targets by coordinating equipment movements, monitoring plant performance, responding to faults, and adjusting operating parameters to optimise production rates. At all times, you will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities Include:

-  Executing the production plan and responding to operational deviations.

-  Monitoring and controlling all fixed plant infrastructure across Port Operations, including car dumpers, stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders, rescreening plants, and the conveyor network.

-  Acting as a key interface between Scheduling, Rail, and Port Operations teams.

-  Accurately capturing production downtime and delay data for reporting and analysis.

-  Managing remote and autonomous ship-loading operations.

This position operates on our Lifestyle Roster, incorporating both day and night shifts with a block of days off at the end of each swing.

Employees on this roster enjoy two full weekends off every four weeks and work the following shift rotation:

2D2N5X, 2D3N4X, 3D2N5X

Shifts are 12.5 hours in duration, including handover time, and attract additional shift allowances as part of the remuneration package. As an added benefit, employees on the Lifestyle Roster also receive an additional week of annual leave each year.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

-  A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

-  The ability to undertake detailed reporting and analysis, while extracting key insights to identify faults and optimise operational performance.

-  Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail.

-  A high level of computer literacy and experience working with operational systems and applications.

-  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-  The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

-  Exposure to Port Operations and/or ship-loading operations or maintenance is desirable.

-  Experience in control room operations will be highly regarded.

-  Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making skills.
