BHP Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) is the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP globally.

About the Role


We are currently inviting experience technical talent with Asset Planning - Electrical focus to express interest and apply. This new hire aims to support our inclusion and diversity within our MECoE department.
 

The Principal Asset Planning will support the execution of BHP Asset Management core deliverables across Fixed and Mobile Plant projects. Reporting to the Manager Asset Planning and Standards, you will ensure that we deliver quality asset management systems and processes across Assets, Sites & Functions. This role will give you the opportunity to cultivate positive relationships through effective communication, feedback, and consultation across the BHP business.


Your responsibilities include:
 

  • Strong participation as a vital member of the team across Safety and the BHP Operating System
  • Provide specialist support with the deployment of asset management principles and provide expertise and support to Assets, sites, and other stakeholders
  • Support in the quality and timely delivery of projects and report on progress
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops that drive tangible outcomes
  • Manage external consultants to assure quality and timely delivery of project deliverables
  • Engage key site stakeholders to resolve issues and challenges regarding Asset Management Principles and framework
  • Support continuous improvement of the Asset Management System
  • Development of the Maintenance Electrification readiness roadmap for the Maintenance Centre of Excellence
  • Support Decarbonisation and Autonomy objectives.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience in best practice Asset Management Systems with an Electrical Engineering Background. If you have the following skills, get in touch:

 

  • Ability to quickly build effective working rapport with stakeholders to influence decision making, negotiate positive outcomes and ensure business and customer expectations are achieved.
  • Experience in applying Asset Management principles across electrical distribution system, networks and supporting infrastructure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple organisational levels and disciplines.
  • Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity, create clarity and reach high quality decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop written and verbal communications to all leadership levels of the business.
  • A qualification in Asset Management with demonstrated knowledge of ISO55000 and the application of Asset Management Systems and Framework is highly regarded.
  • Proven track record of change management implementation skills across multiple locations and regions.
  • Ability to manage and implement change though influence.
  • Experience in supporting or leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience in developing and implementing business process through analysis of data.
  • Extensive mining operation and maintenance experience.
  • Understanding of process mapping to drive sustainable business improvement.
  • Experience in BHP processes and systems (e.g. SAP, Asset Performance Management Tools) is highly regarded.
