About the Role

 

The Principal Business Improvement role will lead the development, implementation, delivery and continuous improvement of global programmes, functional strategic initiatives, and culture across Commercial. 

 

The role is interactive and enjoys multiple touchpoints across global commercial teams which develops a deeper understanding of overall organisational strategy and processes that contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Commercial function. 

 

The role is part of the Chief Commercial Officer Office and reports to the Manager Business Improvement Commercial in Singapore.

 

Main accountabilities include:


•    Support Commercial’s planning and budgeting processes as part of BHP’s broader corporate alignment planning process, including the development and governance of performance metrics and long-term strategy to drive strategic objectives

•    Lead the delivery of functional strategic initiatives related to commercial value, social value, and capability building (i.e. Cash Prioritisation, Budget, KPIs, Customer and Supplier Net Promoter Score, External Benchmarking, BOS Maturity)

•    Coordinate and streamline functional deliverables including ELT and CLT performance scorecards, MOP Board, and the management of ad hoc requests

•    Reviews and advises external reports, speeches and documents for consistency, quality and accuracy across Commercial

•    Proactively identifies and implements continuous improvement activities to improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of Commercial 

•    Drive cultural improvements and initiatives in collaboration with the Commercial Culture team using feedback from the Employee Perception Surveys (EPS)

•    Support the recruitment and management of the BHP Singapore Commercial Graduate Programme
 

About You

 

•    Strong proficiency in strategic planning and project management to drive outcomes
•    Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels with the ability to lead and influence effective communication, up to and including senior levels
•    Track record of transforming strategic visions and complex issues into practical plans from inception to completion with minimal guidance
•    Inclusive, respectful and collaborative team player with the bigger picture in mind
•    Critical thinking, problem-solving, and continuous improvement abilities to address issues and implement improvements quickly
•    Strong Commercial acumen with breadth of business and commercial understanding including Sales and Marketing, Maritime, Procurement, Market Analysis, Risk and Governance
