About the Role

 

The Principal Capital Finance Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor to the business, providing commercial insight, constructively challenging assumptions, and supporting informed decision making across the capital lifecycle. The role has a strong focus on capital productivity, governance, prioritisation, and ensuring alignment between strategic objectives and capital deployment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with project and asset leaders to support capital planning, prioritisation, and performance management
  • Providing investment evaluation and commercial advice on capital projects
  • Stewardship of the capital portfolio, including cash prioritisation and governance
  • Driving improved capital efficiency and value outcomes through insight and challenge
  • Engaging across a broad range of stakeholders to support effective decision making
  • Leading and delivering capital reporting, including portfolio performance insights, cash flow, and capital productivity reporting, to support governance, prioritisation, and informed decision making

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will be able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while maintaining a high attention to detail. You will be naturally curious with a continuous improvement mindset, inspiring challenge through highly effective communication and strong interpersonal skills. You will build constructive relationships and credibility across a range of stakeholders and cross functional teams.

 

Key experience and attributes:

 

  • Experience as a finance professional with strong commercial acumen and relevant finance exposure
  • Well developed commercial and analytical skills, including the ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, actionable insights for decision makers
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing capital investment, investment evaluation, or decision support, including providing commercial advice across the capital lifecycle and supporting disciplined capital allocation decisions
  • Postgraduate qualifications such as a Master’s degree or MBA, CPA, CFA, or CA are highly desirable
