About the Role


BHP is currently recruiting for a high performing and capable Principal Crisis, Security & Emergency Management (CSEM) Training to join the Health, Safety, Security and Emergency Management (HSS&EM) team at BMA (BHP Mitsubishi-Alliance). 

 

This is a permanent role, working Monday to Friday, in Brisbane or within BMA’s Basin Operations in Queensland. 

 

As a Principal CSEM Training with BMA, you will be working in a dynamic and demanding environment, which will come with its own unique challenges. This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional training expert who is a collaborative and dynamic leader with a proven track record to drive cultural change and enhance training outcomes and operational readiness across the asset.  
 
In this role, you will: 

  • Lead BMA’s Crisis, Security and Emergency Management training and exercise program to uplift organisational capability in managing emergencies.  
  • Lead BMA’s implementation, training and maintenance of our Crisis Management System. 
  • Support Operational teams to deliver effective training, real time emergency exercises and desktops and provide recommendations to improve processes and systems.
  • Provide Crisis Management coaching and expert advice to the operations team, their direct reports and key stakeholders. 
  • Monitor and where relevant adopt innovative technologies and methods into the BMA training and exercise program.
  • Development of standards, specifications and maintenance strategies associated with training and exercise facilities and equipment.
  • Lead contract management of third-party training, exercise and Crisis Management System providers.
     

About You

 

This role will suit a highly capable leader who is motivated to collaborate with Operational leaders and HSS&EM teams to ensure we continuously improve and grow capability to manage CSEM response.
 

  • Minimum five years of working knowledge of delivering teaching or training outcomes. 
  • Knowledge of CSEM training and exercise regulatory requirements, best practice standards, policies and procedures and their implementation in the mining and resources sector. 
  • Ability to identify and lead complex training exercise programs and improvement strategies.

 
You will have
 

  • Hold tertiary qualifications teaching, training and Assessment, crisis or emergency management.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Security and Emergency Services industry.
  • Proficient with various word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Experienced in training and managing complex training programs across multiple customers.
  • Have strong leadership, communication and engagement skills, ability to adapt to suit target audience.
