About the Role

 

The Principal (Decarbonisation Program) Program Integration (BMA) is accountable for supporting the Manager Program Integration to deliver support across Minerals Australia to achieve the endorsed Strategic Business Objective of achieving Operational Decarbonisation i.e., reduce emissions by at least 30% by 2030, compared to 2020; and by 2050 achieve net zero emissions. 

 

This role will report directly to the Manager Program Integration. This role will work in conjunction with the Principal Program Integration (WAIO) and will focus on supporting BMA to: 

 

  • Maintain an Integrated Roadmap for Op. Decarb. and focus on integrating our plans into Corporate Alignment Planning (LoA-5YP-2YB) or annual Op. Decarb.
  • Maintain the BMA Decarbonisation Program and focus on supporting the transition of investments through our Investment Management Global Standard.
  • Maintain fit-for-purpose Program Management routines

 

This role will work in partnership with a wide range of internal stakeholders at all levels of the organisation (including indirectly with ELT members), as well as key external partners to deliver the program. 

As part of this role you will

 

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the operational businesses and prioritise work based on where the most significant impacts can be made
  • Defines program objectives/schedules, identifies critical activities, monitors the program plan/schedule and drives continuous improvement    
  • Monitors and manages program performance to deliver the program in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope.   
  • Develops integrated program deliverables and integrates project work across the program.
  • Explores and iteratively reassesses the best fit solutions, takes ownership of tracking program decisions and outcomes and monitors and manages impacts to value across the program lifecycle (e.g. social, environmental, commercial).   
  • Support the Manager Program Integration to implement the Integrated Roadmap, Program Governance and proactively manage Risks & Opportunities in consultation with key stakeholders and in line with the strategic objective including: 
  • Partner with various areas of the Business to build an Integrated Roadmap for the Op. Decarb. program of work
  • Manage and monitor the Integrated Roadmap and its components, ensuring that it continues to meet its original design objectives etc; 
  • Interact with BHP signature processes (i.e., QBR-CAP-IMGS) to ensure the business assigns adequate resourcing to Op. Decarb. to enable execution of the Integrated Roadmap.   
  • Validate program feasibility and by coordinating risk assessments   
  • Undertake program scenarios analysis to identify via the combination of studies, projects or initiatives high value opportunities to deliver on our strategic objectives quicker.

About You

 

  • Bachelor degree - likely in science, technology, engineering or commerce but other degrees also considered.
  • MBA or other post graduate qualifications preferred but not essential  
  • 5-10 years’ experience in delivering technical input on zero-emissions programs of work. 
  • 5 years’ experience influencing senior levels and cross-functional, cross-geography collaborative teams. 
  • Exposure to a broad spectrum of relevant organisations - knows the ‘lay of the land’.  
  • Working understanding of climate and energy policy in BHP jurisdictions, including relevant regulatory and legislative requirements. 
  • Working understanding of BHPs core processes including Corporate Alignment Process (CAP), Investment Management Global Standard
