About the Role
In this role, you will be part of the Escondida Technology Data & Digital team with the role of maintenance and support digital applications. The Data & Digital team in charge of Escondida Applications portfolio is responsible for ensuring reliability and availability of services in our operation.
You must strive for optimization and automation of processes; minimize production downtime and ensuring operational continuity.
Reporting to the Manager – Data & Digital Head of Technology Escondida, your responsibilities will include:
• Technically leading the team and supervises the work for a large sized portfolio of applications, ensuring safe systems of work utilizing existing tools, operating standards and work management/service management processes to deliver a premium level of support.
• Acting as Escondida BHP counterpart for outsourcing contracts for Applications Support ensuring that delivery of services are provided within the agreement, SLA’s, metrics, KPIs and financial target.
• Keeping the services operative, agreeing the RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective), testing and maintaining up-to-date Service Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery Plans.
• Monitoring and proactively address application service availability, capacity, performance, compliance, licensing and fulfill service catalog request.
• Executing the implementation of changes and minor enhancements of the applications within portfolio.
• Ensuring compliance to regulatory, organizational standards and controls, identifying the risks associated to applications under support, evaluating the risks identified: assigning occurrence, probability and impact; prioritizing the risks, establishing action plans to avoid or mitigate the risks evaluated.
• Responsible to manage the budget associated with the Portfolio. This includes forecasting and leading the actions required to address deviations.
• Driving a continuous improvement, cost savings initiatives thru automation, simplification and standardization opportunities across applications.
• Supervise the execution of the consistent safe delivery of change, service requests and resolution of incidents in line with service level agreements utilizing operational procedures, processes and tools.
• Continuous link with internal customers (Escondida)
• Continuous link with Demand & Management sub-area to incorporate/prioritise the Application demands to the digital portfolio.
*This position will be based in Escondida mine site, with a 4x3 Shift (Monday to Thursday).
About You
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a deep knowledge and experience to provide Applications operational support under ITIL methodology. A proven experience with continuous applications improvement for reliability, stability and performance is also a requirement for this role.
The role requires to be highly organized and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (Including root-cause analysis) with the ability to prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Your ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and stakeholders simultaneously will be critical. Is required to understand and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
To be a top performer you will need:
• At least 5+ years of experience managing service providers and vendors in an outsourced environment.
• Operational mind-set with experience working in a live operational environment with 24/7 accountability.
• Exposure to working in a global environment, including geographically dispersed businesses, communication across a variety of cultures, levels, off-shore outsourced service providers etc. Minimum 3 years.
• Migration and/or operations in Cloud environments.
• Desirable experience with DevOps, Agile methodology and Agile working environment.
• Desirable experience supporting systems related with Mine and Plant operations.
Qualifications & Experience
• Tertiary education in Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline applicable to Computer Science or equivalent IT/OT experience.
• Relevant experience working in Technology, preferably within a large global resource / industrial company.
• Strong knowledge in ITIL or similar industry best practice methodology.
• Experience working with Tools know as Low Code.
• Advanced proficiency in Spanish and English.
