About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Employee Relations, supporting Performance & Conduct activities for the Coal Asset. The role is Brisbane based and will require travel to BMA sites in central Queensland from time to time.
This role will be responsible for the provision of guidance and advice to line leaders on complex discipline, performance and employment matters, disputation, and other major changes.
Additionally, the role plays a critical part in delivering BMA ER Strategy actions including coordinating a BMA absenteeism management program of works, and provides an opportunity to take a leadership role in partnering with HRBPs, HR teams and other Functional Teams (i.e. ER Legal, Ethics & Investigations) to deliver strategic outcomes.
To be effective in this role you must have experience in building strong relationships with stakeholders (at all levels), based on credibility, authenticity, and a demonstrated ability to deliver to business needs and priorities.
About You
The role will require the following capabilities:
- Executing the ER Strategy, particularly the strategic priorities in the Performance & Conduct stream of work.
- An understanding of BHP’s risk management framework and practical application of this on a day-to-day basis.
- History of supporting complex employee relations performance and conduct matters, including with trauma informed care practices.
- A keen focus on coaching and uplifting line leader capability to build high performing teams based on trust and direct engagement (to minimise third party intervention).
- Ability to have challenging and difficult conversations with courage, confidence, and influence.
- A good understanding of Australian employment law and practices.
- The ability to interpret and advise on complex industrial instruments.
- Able to apply BHP Operating System (BOS) practices and methodologies.
