The Challenge Ahead
Main Responsibilities
- Govern and provide assurance against global Engineering technical standards, processes and systems within Minerals Americas.
- Develop and maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with Functional, Asset and Operational stakeholders.
- Engage actively with BHP Assets and Operations globally, providing technical expertise and supporting the implementation and management of Engineering global requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems and technology.
- Challenge conventional thinking and act as a conduit for change and innovation in a complex business environment.
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, Global Standards, Code of Conduct and statutory obligations.
What We Expect From You
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary education in Engineering.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience within industry and/or mining engineering teams.
- A minimum of 5 years of field experience in industry and/or mining environments.
- Strong knowledge of BHP Engineering global requirements across Asset Integrity, Process Safety and Engineering Information Management (highly desirable).
- Understanding of Asset Management, strategy development, maintenance execution, maintenance planning, reliability or production processes.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and processes.
- Strong leadership (in influence rather than line leadership), communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across a matrix organisation.
- Strong technical aptitude, analytical capability and critical thinking.
- Excellent strategic thinking, situational analysis and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and manage strategic change initiatives and deliver successful outcomes in complex environments.
- A relationship‑oriented approach with the ability to build open, transparent partnerships across multiple stakeholder groups.
