About the Role
In this role, your accountabilities with the biggest impact include supporting the iterative design, implementation and monitoring of strategic environmental improvement initiatives.
These will include:
- Govern, improve and support implementation of strategic environmental improvement initiatives with particular regard to non-mineral waste and air quality
- Addressing challenges with reliability and visibility of environmental data, particularly in regard to non-mineral waste management and air quality
- Provide technical subject matter expertise to a variety of internal stakeholders, particularly in regards to non-mineral waste management and air quality monitoring, mitigation and management
- Support environmental initiatives through internal business planning cycles, gaining relevant senior leadership endorsement and approvals when required
You will also:
- Actively apply change management and continuous improvement tools to improve processes
- Conduct Field Leadership Activities, with specific focus on coaching of Line Leadership in environmental applications
- Proactively support and champion the implementation of the Environmental Management System
- Support the development of technical capabilities of operational environment team members
About You
We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership and communication skills. Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships and your ability to consolidate and analyse information will provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude.
Key requirements include:
- Passionate about the environment and driving high standards of environmental performance across BMA
- Love connecting with people across the business to identify, scope and solve complex problems; and share learnings
- Enjoy interrogating data, systems and dashboard to draw actionable improvement insights and track performance
- Be a natural communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent writer and be comfortable writing a board paper, technical report, newsletter or social media article
- Demonstrated strong project management skills, including for asset-wide, multi-stakeholder projects
- Track record of leading complex change initiatives
- Relevant environment or engineering related degree and industry environmental management experience
