About the Role

 

In this position you will be guiding WAIO’s strategy of value creation and protection. You will work closely with the Site Leadership Team to provide financial advice, develop working relationships with stakeholders and build financial acumen in the operations. You will create value by improving the quality of business decisions, through analysing financial data and valuing opportunities to enhance business outcomes. The role will be Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) based out of Perth to our operations in Port Hedland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Able to hunt for value 100% of the time, working with all levels of the business and across functions to design and implement these changes.
  • Building financial acumen within line leadership, using all the information generated by A&R to coach and influence the team on how they can monitor their activities based on cost and value
  • Providing critical and accurate financial analysis to support decisions on tactical and strategic business challenge
  • Uses their technical background and expertise to coach and mentor peers and colleagues across Finance to ensure delivery against performance targets.
  • Leads the implementation and monitors effectiveness of Finance BP improvement initiatives 
  • Reviews financial analysis performed in the assessment of improvement projects, cost savings initiatives and cost drivers and shares insights with local management teams.
  • Works with Ops to collect and process all inputs to  2-Year Budget and quarterly forecasts, focusing on driving performance to benchmarks.
  • Analyses output of 2-Year Budget and quarterly forecasts for variability and improvement opportunities.

 

About You

 

  • Able to travel to site as this will be a FIFO role
  • Able to deal with competing priorities with a strong attention to detail
  • Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or Engineering (or MBA) 
  • Substantial experience working in a similar field with preferred exposure to the mining and resources industry
  • Proficiency in SAP and experience working with financial models in Microsoft Excel 
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial results to a variety of stakeholders
  • Highly developed negotiation and decision making skills
  • Strong analytical mindset to translate insights into strategic decisions
  • Ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders
