About the Role

We are currently seeking a Principal Finance Business Partner (FBP) to support our Technology and Commercial function for the Minerals Americas region.

In this role you will be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders in the Minerals Americas region to build and strengthen commercial acumen with key stakeholders to drive business outcomes from long term strategic direction to short term decision making and budget control. You will partner with the functions to create and preserve value through coaching, connect the Finance value chain and decision making with enterprise and asset objectives.

 

In this role you will: 
 

  • Support Technology and Commercial teams in Minerals Americas region in the delivery of key performance goals, strategic projects and initiatives and will be the primary local interface with the Minerals Americas Finance team.
  • Be accountable for accuracy of budget, forecasting and finance value chain in partnership with the Finance teams.
  • Build and strengthen key relationships with functional stakeholders, coaching teams to support their understanding of the financial impacts and drive discipline around cost ownership.
  • Engage with Technology and Commercial teams to identify, advise and evaluate commercial contracts, productivity, investment reviews and value creation initiatives.
  • Through a commercial lens, understand both voice of the customer from internal, and external benchmarks that indicate what’s possible to inform decisions/targets for senior management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvements and apply BOS principles to drive process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify, analyse and provide recommendations to resolve commercial and financial issues when they arise.
  • Provide financial governance and analytical oversight, with a data-driven approach to problem solving. 

About You

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
 

  • A degree qualified professional, with proven commercial acumen.
  • Enthusiastic, confident self-starter, with the ability to motivate and work autonomously.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and delivery, with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and functional and asset teams to drive outcomes.
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve complex problems, think outside the box and drive change.
  • You thrive under pressure and are able to manage stakeholder expectations and competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong relationships, communicate and influence across levels of the organisation to drive the right value outcomes.
  • Financial system experience (with SAP and PRIME) preferred but not essential.
