About the Role
The position will engage and influence the Operations/Functions on the delivery of Business plans, helping better manage the cost base (both capex and opex) and getting maximizing business value.The role is based in Antofagasta, Chile.
Key Accountabilities:
- Shifting and breaking paradigms within the business
- Able to hunt for value 100% of the time, working with all levels of the business and across functions to design and implement these changes.
- Building financial acumen within line leadership, using all the information generated by P&R to coach and influence the team on how they can monitor their activities based on cost and value.
- Providing critical and accurate financial analysis to support decisions on tactical and strategic business challenge.
- Uses their technical background and expertise to coach and mentor peers and colleagues across Finance to ensure delivery against performance targets.
- Leads the implementation and monitors effectiveness of Finance BP improvement initiatives.
- Reviews financial analysis performed in the assessment of improvement projects, cost savings initiatives and cost drivers and shares insights with local management teams.
- Work collaboratively within the larger data analytics team.
- Uses analytics models, systems and tools to ensure an optimal approach in delivering business requests that drives process efficiency and standardisation.
- Works with Ops to collect and process all inputs to 2-Year Budget and quarterly forecasts, focusing on driving performance to benchmarks.
- Analyses output of 2-Year Budget and quarterly forecasts for variability and improvement opportunities.
- Month end cost analysis and control. Working closely with the operations and areas to understand any deviation.
About You
To be a top performer you will need:
- Degree qualification in Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in mining companies.
- Advanced Spanish and English proficiency.
- Working in and navigating stakeholders in a highly complex, global and dynamic organization – requiring indirect influence.
- Experience working in innovative, best practice organizations or business units.
- Operational Commercial and Financial background.
- Highly developed negotiation and decision making skills.
- Availability to work in the city of Antofagasta from Monday to Friday.
