About the Role

 

The role is based in Manila, Philippines but supports both our Manila and Kuala Lumpur offices.

 

Overall Responsibilities

 

  • Acts as the main point of contact for all general health, safety and wellbeing concerns for KL and MLA, working closely with all internal stakeholders to meet both internal commitments and regulatory requirements
  • Promotes health, safety and well-being aligned with BHP’s “Our Requirements” and support  global HSE initiatives
  • Acts in an advisory capacity on safety and health concerns for the guidance of employees.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for any DOLE-related HSE matters.
  • Works closely with P&W and leadership team on emergency management such as but not limited to drills, safety warden trainings, safety kits, fire safety devices and others.
  • Promotes and supports hazard awareness and identification in the workplace.
  • Investigates accidents or injuries that occur in the workplace and determine classification (work or non-work related incidents)
  • Ensures efficient and effective operation of the clinic and clinic personnel on all shifts.
  • Ensures that local HSE requirements are complied such as but not limited to emergency management, environmental management, and compliance with RA 11058.
  • Ensures that all DOLE related policies and programs are updated including the annual OSH Program.
  • Acts as liaison officer to DOLE MUNTAPARLAS and EMB NCR for HSE matters. 
  • Actively collaborates with HR on case managements relating to HSE.
  • Ensures all HSE-related expenditures are tracked and within budget

 

HSE Support for Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

 

  • Ensures compliance to Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (ACT 514) particularly around safety committee, safety meeting and investigation of incidents.
  • Collaborates with P&W on yearly HSE activities – drills, vaccination, etc

About You

 

  • A degree in any applicable discipline e.g OHS Diploma, Engineering, Environmental Science
  • More than 5 years work experience in HSE in a similar setting
  • Must meet the requirement for SO3 as per DOLE requirement
  • Must meet the requirement for PCO accreditation as per DENR requirement
  • Proven working knowledge of country regulatory requirements 
  • Proficient in MS Apps with ability to learn quickly other BHP systems
  • Able to manage conflict and have problem solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously but also has cross-functional thinking ability
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills 
  • Planning ability and project management skills
  • Good interpersonal and cultural sensitivity
