About the Role

Reporting to the Health Safety and Security Manager for Copper Coal Assets Projects (CCAP) you will be supporting team members across multiple locations providing leadership and direction in the delivery of HSS technical and strategic improvement initiatives. This is a high-profile role requiring strategic thinking which translates into operational practices.  
You will have the opportunity to build capability and capacity within HSS through the development, coaching, and alignment of project delivery teams. This is a travel demanding role requiring adaptability and flexibility to enable the HSS team to grow and meet its potential.    

 

     

In this role you will:

 

  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day.

  • Assisting project leaders to embed key safety processes including coaching and monitoring of task based risk assessments, incident investigations, visible field leadership and maintain high level of environmental performance.

  • Implement suitable HSE strategy to support project delivery and review and support project work packs.

  • Support analysis of activities for HSE data including benchmarking, developing key performance metrics and insight development.

  • Manage, control, monitor and participate in the execution of work that is the accountability of the HSE function.

  • Perform a coach and mentor role to the HSS team members  

 

About You

  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’

  • Influence diverse teams by understanding and management of human factors and behaviours

  • Ability to engage and make informed decisions working effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of Queensland and South Australian work health and safety legislation

  • Previous experience with HSE event investigations

  • Strong understanding of databases and database processes with the ability to identify opportunities to automate HSE processes and reporting

  • Tertiary degree relevant to HSE or Risk Management
