About the Role
The purpose of this role is to drive continuous improvement in HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environmental) culture for Joint Venture Assets and NOJV (Non-operated Joint Ventures) by focusing on the following:
• Planning processes (annual planning, target setting).
• Internal reporting (monthly and quarterly reports).
• Collaboration routines with HSSE peers across the business.
• Sustaining BOS practices in ways of working.
• Providing overall support to the NOJV team for internal initiatives related to culture, leadership, and the deployment of tools and programs.
• Supporting the implementation of improvement initiatives defined by the Group HSSE Function.
Main responsibilities:
• Ensure conformance with the BHP and NOJV Purpose, BHP Charter, BHP Our Requirements, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
• In collaboration with NOJV Leadership Team, provide clarity on delivery of strategy through facilitation and input to the annual Business Plan, Key Focus Areas, routine reporting, relevant MIP, RDP and support to Performance Dialogues
• Facilitate and influence improvement of HSS&E productivity tools and structures that span across all HSS&E functions (routines, collaboration tools, standardization) to optimize team performance and effectiveness (work smarter, not harder)
• Ongoing review, consolidation, and preparation of material to support the leadership team such as reporting, analytics and improvement projects.
• Engage and collaborate with NOJV Asset SMEs and relevant stakeholders
• Lead and develop opportunities for enhancing the culture of care and wellbeing within the NOJV team.
About You
To be a top performer you will need:
Qualification
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Management
• 10 years professional experience minimum
Skills
• Demonstrated verbal and written English/Spanish language proficiency (Portuguese will be highly regarded)
• Demonstrated influencing skills.
• Ability to work in ambiguous and complex environments.
• Independent thinker
• Working knowledge of relevant health, safety and environment aspects
• Ability to work across and communicate with all levels of the organization
• Project management skills.
Experience
• Technical: professional with experience in planning and working across teams as well as efficient use of planning and reporting systems. Requires knowledge of key concepts, theories and practices related to effective management of HSE related risks.
• Leading identification and delivery of improvement projects from an HSE or business lens.
• Knowledge of BHP standards, tools and systems such as HSE systems, Teams, SharePoint, and other collaboration platforms.
• Stakeholder Engagement: demonstrated capability to work with diverse stakeholders across all levels and areas of the organization.
