About the Role

 

This is a global role within the Group HSE, reporting to the Head of Health, the role provides technical expertise and strategic management of psychosocial and mental health related initiatives, provisions, and resources across the organisation. 

 

  • Manages and provides specialist/functional expertise on mental health and psychosocial to uplift organisational capability in mental health and psychosocial risk management.  
  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with our mental health strategy and longer term business objectives to keep our workforce safe and free from harm. 
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Provides subject matter advice and support and guidance to leaders on job redesign and other psychosocial interventions.
  • Designs evidence based psychosocial controls to prevent and mitigate further harm. 
  • Designs and implements governance and assurance practices and Management of Change procedures to control value outcomes across BHP.
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Cleanses and analyses data from a variety of sources to help inform strategy, interventions and initiatives.  
  • Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes.  
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence based decision making.  
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.  
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.  
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs using evidence based principles to deliver. 
     

About You

 

  • Registered Psychologist with preferably a Masters degree or PHD  in Psychology, preferably Organisational Psychology. OR at minimum eligible as a psychologist with  APHRA or registration body in relevant country or location. 
  • Experience in the resource sector preferred.
  • At least 5 to 8 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a global organization.
  • Experience in Psychosocial risk methodology and the identification, evaluation and design and measurement of controls. 
  • Deep subject matter expert in psychosocial and job deign interventions.
  • A passion for using data to make decisions with significant experience in designing and validating psychometrics and in data analysis in SPPS, R, Minitab or Power BI. 
  • Ability to provide specialist expertise regarding psychological and psychosocial interventions and design of mental health strategy.
