About the Role

 

Reporting to the Superintendent – Integrated Planning, the Principal – Integrated Planning is a key member and influencer within Integrated Planning, BMA Mine Planning Lead Teams and Marketing. This role is pivotal in production integration, by balancing coal production, risk, supply chain capacity/constraints and sales to maximise value for the asset.  

 

This role is based in Brisbane.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Maintain a risk-adjusted supply chain production plan, coordinating weekly updates from site planning teams and aligning with Logistics and Marketing to ensure committed sales are delivered on time and to specification
  • Co-facilitate the weekly Agile Sales Process with Marketing, managing spot sale opportunities for uncommitted PHCC and secondary products to maximise commercial value
  • Partner with site operational teams to identify and implement production, blending and sales optimisation opportunities that enhance asset value
  • Own production forecast accuracy, working closely with site planning teams to ensure supply chain balance and proactive management of risks and constraints
  • Support the development, execution and integration of the SRF processes across Production, Maintenance, Logistics and D&B
  • Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders to identify, evaluate and quantify productivity improvement and value creation initiatives, while assessing plan delivery risk
  • Analyse complex operational and supply chain data and communicate insights, risks, opportunities and mitigation strategies to support executive-level decision making
  • Lead delivery of annual Two-Year Budget planning submissions, including supporting analysis, assumptions and risk assessments
  • Foster effective stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Logistics and other business functions
  • Drive continuous improvement through disciplined application of the BHP Operating System, including adherence to standards, processes, systems and governance frameworks

About You

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support cross-functional engagement and effectively influence throughout multiple levels of the business
  • The ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple deliverables across various stakeholder groups including senior leadership
  • Ability to think strategically and strong commercial acumen
  • Strong action orientation and outcomes/delivery focus
  • Experience in coal planning at an operational level, inclusive of production forecasting and a working knowledge of coal quality
  • Broader experience in mine planning at a coal operation is highly advantageous, as is operational experience
