About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon.  BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.   This is a 24 month term role.

Purpose

The Principal Maintenance Readiness Provides technical expertise in developing mining and processing equipment hierarchy technical object structure (TOS) in accordance with BHP standards and Jansen Reliability analsyse requirements. This role will work closely with the internal and external MR project teams to preserve Jansen operational key value drivers.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible to define the battery limits of physical system by using engineering artifacts i.e. P&IDs, Data Sheets, General Arrangement drawings to complete the high quality 1SAP asset hierarchy battery limits for the asset classes including; Underground Mine, Hoists, Mill & NPI
  • Actively collaborate and align with other Maintenance Readiness team membersto deliver a successful product in alignment with customer timelines
  • Assist the TOS templates governance and QA/QC process for 1SAP upload
  • Develops, optimises and governs master data and replication of best practices across assets and equipment while optimising value for the long term
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems
  • Prioritises work effort per schedule and details according to relative importance
  • Ensure TOS development procedure remain upto date and serve as the basis of hierarchy development rules and guidelines 

About You

  • Post-Secondary degree in engineering and/or equivalent.
  • Experince with interpreting P&ID tracing, schematics, and data sheets
  • Experience with maintenance master data development process  
  • Experience in asset hierarchy development process
