About the Role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Maintenance Strategy Governance to join our team in Adelaide, supporting our Copper South Australia Assets.

 

The Maintenance Strategy Governance (MSG) team delivers value through the development and optimisation of maintenance strategies that balance risk, cost, and equipment performance. We work closely with site-based reliability and maintenance teams to achieve exceptional performance today and tomorrow for the Assets we support.

 

Reporting to the Copper South Australia Manager Maintenance Strategy Governance, your key accountabilities include:

  • Strategy Development: Develop and optimise Fixed Plant (Processing Plant equipment) maintenance strategies to manage risk associated with failure modes, incorporating feedback from actual failure data to continuously improve strategy effectiveness.
  • Defect Elimination: Facilitate the elimination of defects, particularly those associated with large-scale or chronic trigger events, to enhance asset reliability and performance.
  • Program Leadership: Lead Maintenance Strategy Governance and Asset Improvement programs aimed at enhancing governed maintenance strategies and driving long-term value.
  • Technical Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert in maintenance strategy management and defect elimination, providing guidance and support across the business.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across Maintenance and the broader business to embed a culture of defect elimination and promote best-in-class reliability practices.
  • Safety and Field Leadership: Identify opportunities for safety improvements and actively participate in field leadership activities to reinforce a strong safety culture.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and operational stakeholders to drive alignment and deliver successful improvement outcomes.
  • Capability Development: Identify technical capability gaps and provide guidance to close them, supporting continuous improvement in asset performance.

About You

 

As a successful candidate you will possess the following: 

  • Recognized tertiary or trade qualifications, complemented by hands-on or consulting experience in maintenance within the oil and gas, mining, or processing sectors.
  • Proven proficiency in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), including methodologies such as FMECA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Asset Performance Management (APM), Downtime Accounting Systems (DAS), and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like 1SAP.
  • Experience in Fixed Plant (Processing Plant Equipment) maintenance is desirable.
  • Exposure to data mining and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization and convey complex technical concepts clearly and confidently.
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
  • You demonstrate a strong safety focus, a drive for continuous improvement, and a passion for achieving exceptional outcomes.
