About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to drive the successful execution of major commercial workplace projects within our Property & Workplace (P&W) function. This role is pivotal in delivering strategic business outcomes, ensuring alignment with global standards, and mentoring project leads to build a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Lead the P&W major projects practice, including operating model, process design, and governance.
- Manage internal and external project teams, ensuring alignment with BHP’s standards.
- Oversee support partners to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes.
Strategy
- Define and implement strategies for real estate project identification, feasibility, and execution.
- Maintain a 5-year major projects roadmap aligned with long-term business planning.
- Contribute to global P&W strategy and business planning.
- Prepare and present business cases for major capital investments.
Project Delivery
- Oversee resource planning and reporting across all major projects.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to project leads.
- Manage project risks, ensuring compliance with HSE and regulatory standards.
- Ensure delivery within approved scope, budget, and timelines.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify improvement opportunities and drive innovation.
- Support global planning and performance reporting for major projects.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with Investment Committees and senior leaders on project planning and delivery.
- Lead project steering committees and collaborate across the P&W team.
- Build strong relationships with internal partners including Finance, Human Resources, Risk, HSE, and Technology.
Compliance
- Uphold the BHP Charter, Our Requirements, and Code of Business Conduct.
About You
You’ll bring a strong track record in leading complex, multi-region projects and a passion for delivering impactful outcomes. Key qualifications and experience include:
- Proven experience managing major projects across multiple regions with broad understanding of property and facilities management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management or Business Administration.
- Strong financial planning and budget management skills.
- Experience implementing best-practice project delivery methodologies.
- Skilled in change and communication management across diverse stakeholders.

- Strong stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities.
Location
The role can be based in Australia corporate offices in Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide.
You will be working on Monday to Friday roster, required to work three days from the office and up to two days working from home. One of the office-based days is required to be a Monday or Friday.
