We are seeking a highly capable transformation professional to join the Strategy & Major Projects team and help shape and deliver this journey.
About the Role
As Principal, Strategy & Major Projects (Digital Transformation), you will play a key role in leading strategic transformation initiatives across the Maritime business. Working at the intersection of strategy, technology and operations, you will help translate business objectives into practical programs that improve performance, enhance user experience and enable long-term value creation.
You will partner closely with senior leaders across Maritime, Technology, Global Business Services (GBS) and external delivery partners to drive enterprise system deployments, operational improvements and business transformation initiatives. The role is suited to an individual with experience in digital transformation, SAP or enterprise system deployments, business process improvement, change leadership and large-scale project delivery.
Accountabilities
Digital Strategy & Transformation
- Support the development and execution of Maritime's digital strategy and transformation agenda.
- Identify opportunities to improve business performance through technology, automation, artificial intelligence (AI), process optimisation and data-driven decision making.
- Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for value creation and operational improvement.
Enterprise Systems & Digital Deployment
- Act as Business Lead for strategic enterprise system initiatives, including SAP-enabled business process transformation and deployment of modern maritime operations and voyage management platforms.
- Represent Maritime business requirements throughout solution design, implementation, testing, business readiness and deployment activities.
- Partner closely with Technology, GBS, vendors and implementation partners to deliver fit-for-purpose business outcomes.
- Support the design and implementation of future-state business processes, operating models and digital capabilities.
- Identify and manage dependencies between technology initiatives, process improvement opportunities and wider transformation programs.
Business Transformation & Change Leadership
- Support the mobilization and execution of function-wide transformation initiatives arising from ongoing diagnostic, process improvement and value stream mapping activities.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, business readiness and change adoption activities to support successful delivery of strategic and digital initiatives.
- Build alignment across Maritime, Technology, GBS and enterprise functions around future-state processes, operating models and ways of working.
- Identify and manage dependencies between business improvement opportunities, digital programs and organizational change initiatives while maintaining focus on value delivery.
Strategy & Major Projects
- Contribute to strategic planning activities and governance of major projects and transformation programs.
- Support development of investment cases, executive presentations and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Coordinate delivery across multiple strategic initiatives involving diverse stakeholder groups.
- Participate in broader Maritime and enterprise priorities as required.
About You
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, technology, supply chain, maritime studies, finance or a related discipline.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification, project delivery certification or change management accreditation is desirable.
Skills
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to convert complex issues into clear recommendations.
- Highly effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
- Ability to bridge business and technology perspectives and translate business needs into executable delivery outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication, executive presentation and workshop facilitation skills.
- Commercial acumen and experience with governance, benefits realization, risk and dependency management.
- Familiarity with value stream mapping, Lean, continuous improvement, data, analytics, automation or AI-enabled transformation is advantageous.
