About the Role

 

An exciting opportunity exists for a strategic minded, collaborative, and highly motivated individual to join the I&S and Logistics Procurement Team as a Principal. This full-time role is based in Perth and offers the chance to lead strategic commercial initiatives to support BHP's Iron Ore Asset. 

 

  • Manage high value, complex, multi-site and multi-disciple contracts.
  • Lead the development and implementation of unconstrained category and sourcing strategies using tools such as TCO modelling and clean sheeting.
  • Design and deliver detailed negotiation strategies to drive optimal commercial, best in market outcomes.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, ensuring alignment with governance, milestones, and performance targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead SRM to mitigate risks and unlock long-term value.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, seeking year on year cost out.
  • Actively support a high-performing, fast-paced and collaborative team.
  • Understand and leverage market trends, innovations, and emerging risks to inform strategic decisions.
  • Manage end-to-end commercial and contractual challenges and vendor’s supply chain performance in collaboration with Contract Owners.
  • Influence and negotiate outcomes that achieve enterprise goals.

About You

 

  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial disciplines, ideally within the facilities management sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify and implement value-driven opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience in rigorous contract management and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with the ability to obtain buy-in for new ideas.
  • Proficient in GCMS, Procurement BI Tools, MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • A desire to leverage new technologies to optimise speed to value.
  • A commitment to Social Value.
  • Previous leadership roles would be beneficial.
