About the Role
Reporting to the TROC (Technology Remote Operations Centre) Superintendent Respond, you will provide support to the Production System Technology services.
The Principal Network Respond Engineer is responsible for the management, and oversight of the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, integrity, and security of data and communication networks, aligning with the company's standards and strategic objectives.
Your key accountabilities will include:
• Develop, lead, train and coordinate incident management process throughout the entire process life cycle, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal impact on operations.
• Develop, lead, train and coordinate fulfillment process throughout the entire process life cycle, ensuring all requests are met efficiently and effectively.
• Engage sites and TROC operation stakeholders during events, incidents, and changes or planned maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Interact with technical stakeholders, support level 1, level 2 and contractor level 3, ensuring all technical issues are addressed promptly.
• Oversee and coordinate contact management with third parties and support service providers.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
• Ensure that major incidents lessons learned are correctly documented, shared, and included as part of the operations teams BAU activities..
• Rapidly provide break-fix solutions or escalate to support teams to restore production system availability following outages.
• Support proactive monitoring & event management to maintain critical production systems availability.
• Support the correct transition to operations execution from projects, and ensure the services and assets are properly taken under control.
• Identify and escalate issues by analyzing recurring incidents.
• Provide technical support to the root cause analysis (RCA) investigation and problems resolution.
• Ensure that monitoring tools are properly updated, including network CI and components, as needed (changing as business required).
• Perform maintenance activities on Production Systems Technology assets that reduce failure rates and downtime of equipment.
• Ensure the safe execution of planned work to deploy Production Systems technology changes & enhancements.
• Apply effective risk controls to identify potential threats and minimize or remove business impact.
• Execute Service Management operational processes to drive consistent execution for the entire scope of Production Systems Operations accountabilities.
• Participate in the planning and testing of disaster recovery and OT service continuity plans for Production Systems applications and infrastructure.
About You
You will be an excellent team player who is also able to work in a stand-alone capacity. You will provide leadership to a team, focused on the management and support of on-site operational technology and systems. You will coach and develop team leaders / teams to deliver high performance. Your oral and written communication skills will be well developed, and you will be able to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels.
To be a top performer you will need:
• Bachelor or higher degree from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics) schools. Telecommunications degree is a plus.
• Fluent verbal and written Spanish. Advanced verbal/written English.
• A minimum of 7 years' experience in similar roles is required, ideally in the mining industry.
• IT Infrastructure Library, ITIL v3 or higher certification is desirable.
• Technical experience in Network Administration such as routers, firewalls and switches.
• Hands on experience configuring Cisco equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols, security, and communication technologies.
• Certifications aligned with networking equipment configuration is big plus. Same or similar to CCNP or CCIE.
• Technical experience in leading and resolving complex problems, proposing solutions, and finding the root cause after deep analysis.
• Technical experience coordinating installations, configurations and support of end user equipment.
• Experience leading and interacting with different lines of service and internal/external resolver groups.
• Experience in industrial environment (networks, control systems, instrumentation).
Desirables
• Experience in optical networks (DWDM) and fiber optics deployment.
• Experience Cybersecurity to help develop and evolve the company's security strategy.
• Knowledge on ISA-95 standard.
