About the Role
In this role, you will provide technical expertise in assurance activities related to risk management, internal processes, and controls for operational risks. You will play a key role in delivering the internal audit plan across assets, ensuring audits are planned, executed, and reported efficiently and effectively. You will be instrumental in improving the way we identify and manage risk by leveraging data analytics, strengthening internal control environments, and supporting business stakeholders with actionable insights. Your contribution will help drive continuous improvement, elevate audit quality, and influence positive change in risk culture across the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality operational audit activities across assigned engagements, ensuring alignment with internal audit methodology, governance frameworks, and industry standards.
- Lead planning phases of operational audits, including preparation, onboarding, logistics coordination, and development of consistent work programs.
- Support the identification and engagement of subject matter experts to strengthen audit delivery when required.
- Utilize data analytics to refine audit scope, identify trends and exceptions, and generate evidence-based insights.
- Execute and oversee fieldwork testing, collaborating with audit teams and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Lead risk culture assessments, analyzing behavioral insights and their connection to audit findings.
- Develop clear, factual audit findings and support the preparation of high-quality audit reports.
- Enhance audit quality through effective stakeholder engagement and timely delivery of outcomes.
- Promote critical thinking and provide clarity on complex audit issues to improve risk and control environments.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational audit programs, aligning them with business priorities and risk assessments.
About You
- Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in areas such as Production, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Risk Management, Audit, Safety, or other operational disciplines.
- Strong background within the resources industry, with demonstrated practical experience in applying risk management principles.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience coordinating efforts across teams and stakeholders.
- A university degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mining, Process, Structural, Mechanical, or Geotechnical).
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
- Professional certification in auditing (preferred).
