About the Role
Reporting to SI Industrial infield & Comms Technology Superintendent Escondida, you will support the OT operations within Wireless telecommunications services - Digital radio Trunking team, to robust our pillars to maintain operational continuity and prevent plan. This includes ensuring that service level agreement metrics are met, identifying and addressing issues and risks related to the network infrastructure, and leading, coordinating, and communicating with the team to successfully carry out improvements, management, and networks operational tasks throughout its structure to meet the business requirements.
The role is based on mine site in 4x3 shift, and your key accountabilities will include:
• Ensure that the telecommunications services operate properly to achieve strategic objectives
• Lead a multidisciplinary team for a correct operation of Operational Technology Digital Radio Trunking
• Service Owner for Radio Trunking, and contract representative for associated services L2 & L3.
• Lead relationship with technology manufactures to secure support model and innovative technology deployment, including contract management process and technical assessment.
• Manage life cycle of components ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of the solutions.
• Establish a maintenance strategy and preventive inspection plan for digital radio services
• Design, execute and update planning and testing for service continuity plan (SCP), disaster recovery plan (DRP) to services related.
• Applying effective risk controls, including cybersecurity, to identify potential threats and minimize or mitigate operational impact
• Participate in transition to operation (TTO) process as service owner and technical approver, ensure zero impact in services.
• Lead and coordinate the resolution of incidents (Root Cause Analysis / Problem Management)
• Build and own technical procedure according to global BHP standard for Radio Digital from mine to port
• Manage Radio Infrastructure Management System, maintain as built availability information, and update changes, including georeferencing information and infra governance to enable new services.
About You
You will be an excellent team player who can also work in a stand-alone capacity within a high-performance team. Your oral and written communication skills are well developed, and you will be able to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels, including onsite teams.
As the preferred candidate, you will be a person that is a highly logical thinker, well sound on Digital Radio System management, process oriented, and possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence peers and propose innovating solutions within a high-pressure environment.
To be a top performer you will need:
• Tertiary qualification or higher in Information Systems, Telecommunication, Electronics, Systems or related professional
• A minimum of +10 years of relevant experience in communications systems on mining operations.
• Exposure to operational experience onsite.
• Experience design, planning, implementation, and operation of P25 LMR Networks.
• Experience managing telecommunications contracts in mining.
• Previous experience in handling and resolving critical incidents in industrial mining scenarios.
• Experience in technology management projects with exposure in resources industries (mining, infrastructure, and telecommunication).
• Experience in technical change management review and approval.
• Fluent in Spanish and intermedium to advance English level.
