About the role
The purpose of this role is provides technical expertise in the provision of project services (e.g. scope, estimated/actual cost, planning and scheduling, budgets, changes, progress and forecasting) to influence the on-time and on-budget delivery of project objectives.
Accomplish Look after Cost & Schedule KPIs for each phase and projects.
Utilizes independent functional voice and technical expertise and professional insight to resolve complex role challenges.
Establishes a clear understanding of project value drivers and provides advice to project teams on efficiency levers.
Promotes the value of the function through exceptional technical quality of work and an individual commitment to operational and technical excellence.
Demonstrates superior time management skills and efficient work methodologies.
Guide and lead the development of the Project Control & Analysis (PC&A) deliverables in conjunction with the superintendent PC&A.
Implement PC&A processes, methodologies, strategies, systems and functional plans for our portfolio according to BHP PC&A standards.
Manage and guide deployed PC&A resources of third parties.
Provide training and guidance to third parties and internal team members.
Set contractors’ requirements for format, timing, and content of project services PC&A deliverables.
Solid technical knowledge and experience for the purposes of performing scenario analysis, forecast and information necessary for decision making.
Apply integrated change management processes for cost, schedule and scope on a project.
Coordinate control cost and planning activities for studies and execution phases, challenging deliverables in terms of cost & schedule (early alerts).
Coordinate estimate and planning activities for future phases and Execution, challenging those deliverables in terms of cost & schedule for projects on study phases.
Collaborate with other functions to ensure consistency and accuracy of project cost data and appropriateness of project contract and finance methodologies.
Monitor PC&A data and reports to support Project Team & Technology function needs. Leads ongoing and consistent project control and reporting development.
About You
A Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Business, or related/relevant discipline.
10 years of experience in Project Management Roles. 7 years of experience in Project Control roles. Previous experience within a similar role in Study and/or Execution will be highly regarded.
A demonstrated understanding of principles and governance in Project PC&A Services sub-functions of risk management, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, cost engineering, and project controls., risk and assurance and project information management.
Demonstrated leadership and cultural development of teams enabling high performing outcomes in PC&A.
Exceptional communications skills with the ability to influence across various functions and levels.
Location: Santiago
Mandatory Requirement: Availability to travel to our assets.
