About the role
The purpose of this role is supporting team focused on the implementation and sustaining of BHP Operating System (BOS) providing coaching, training and deliverables in VP Projects MinAm to increase the level of maturity and seek opportunities for value creation and preservation by setting program strategies for standardization, replication of best practices and continuous improvement. In detail:
- Coaches and develops senior leaders, team leaders and teams members of VP Projects to deliver high performance and improve their process through BOS
- Support team focused on implementation of BOS and other regional/global initiatives
- Support the implementation and best practices of the routines aligned with BOS.
- Maintain close interaction with key stakeholders from VP Projects, Asset and global functions (PCoE / BCoE)
- Ensure progress and maturity of the 14 practices of BOS in VP Projects MinAm.
- Translate regional and global strategy into operational plans for the team.
- Capture feedback, understand voice of the customer, and identify improvement opportunities to ensure excellence in the service delivered. Confirm that team efforts are aligned to customer priorities.
- Identify, implement and evaluate the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve the safety, quality, effectiveness and efficiency of BHP systems and processes.
- Capture best practices, and opportunities for replication and knowledge sharing, aligned with the Projects One Team approach.
About You
Requirements:
- Civil Engineer / Business / Finance or similar, entitled.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in operations or projects with focus in portfolio management, project control, operational excellence, data analysis and reporting, BOS or continuous improvement.
- Apply an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision-making, productivity and value chain performance.
- Advanced knowledge in the operative application of continuous improvement and operational excellence tools and methodologies, such as: Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and others.
- Verbal and written effective communication skills, including the ability to transmit in simple way complex ideas.
- It´s desirable to have technical knowledge and experience in mining operations, large-scale project planning and design, and project execution.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to create trusted relationships to provide coaching and feedback to senior leaders: Vicepresidents, General Managers & Managers.
- Lead change management activities of a complex cultural transformation. Applies and evaluates change management tools, methods, purpose, value and strategic vision.
- Advanced ability to lead problem-solving sessions applying standarized tools.
- Facilitate alignment and decision making in the context of conflict and opposing views, in line with our value chart.
Location: Santiago
Mandatory requirements: Travelling to our operations.
