About the Team

Global Business Services (GBS) Strategic E2E Transformation is responsible for delivering short-, medium- and long-term improvements for the BHP payroll transformation program. These improvements are across different aspects of payroll such as data, controls and governance, systems and processes. Accurate, timely and efficient payroll is a critical core process for any organization, so joining this team provides an exciting opportunity to be part of the improvement of foundational HR processes that all employees rely on. 

 

We have a number of positions available and are looking for passionate people who are keen to make a meaningful and positive impact to BHP through the collective delivery of multiple projects within the payroll transformation program. These roles can be based in any of our BHP offices in Australia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

 

About the Role

  • Provide leadership and project management to a workstream to ensure delivery aligned to the key objectives of that workstream.
  • Day to day work management of project resources (a combination of BHP employees and external consultants)
  • Use functional expertise to guide the team in ensuring solutions are resolving root causes. 
  • Provide strategic guidance to the team to ensure that the solutions align with other workstream solutions as well as the broader HR roadmap.
  • Risk identification and resolution, proactive, pragmatic problem solving to ensure deadlines are met and that initiatives move forward at pace.
  • Identification and engagement with key stakeholders impacted by the changes you are delivering.
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships with people located globally, both within BHP and externally (e.g. consultants, service providers, vendors etc.)

About You

  • You’re comfortable to take the lead, proactively seek clarity and drive for outcomes when things are unclear.
  • Has MDM expertise: Leverage deep MDM expertise to advise on best approach to data management topics, including data process, technology and program delivery 
  • Has a good understanding of the HR data structures and models: Possess deep understanding of Employee Central (EC) data & SAP master data objects and data structures and play a key role in defining data standards/structures associated with them. 
  • Project management capability to lead workstreams from scoping to embedment.
  • Ability to work manage others, utilizing a diverse set of skills and experiences to achieve the objective.
  • Can think strategically (see the big picture and connect dots) but also able to keep things simple and you're comfortable to work in detail where required.
  • Ability to identify and understand different stakeholders and their needs, influence others and work collaboratively to get aligned outcomes.
  • You can build strong personal connections and good working relationships and use these effectively.
  • Inquisitive in nature, strong attention to detail and determination to deliver.
  • Experience in HR operations, large scale payroll transformations or an interest in HR data is advantageous.
