About the Role

Develop multiple studies and technical assessments to capture and maximize long-term value of non-operated joint ventures Assets in Minerals Americas, supporting Board and Committee members in the execution of their duties. Build strong relationship with peers at the Non-Operated Joint Venture Team and BHP Functions through the excellence in technical practices and cooperation. Also build strong relationship with Industry Technical Experts to ensure best practices and innovation to add value to Non-Operated Joint Ventures.

Core Accountabilities:

• Identified Key Value Drivers (KVD) and risks aligned with BHP’s overall strategy, with a strong focus on compliance and sustainability, to develop Key Focus Areas (KFAs) for prioritising the influencing of our Join Venture Partners and JV Asset management team. 
• Advice Board and Committee members in all mining related aspects, including safety, productivity and cost elements seeking Long Term value maximization and compliance of Budgets. 
• Participate in Resources and Reserves related processes of Non-Operated Joint Ventures for BHP
• Analyses the information that feed the monitoring, benchmarks and reports of Joint Venture Portfolio performance for mining business
• Participates in the activities to comply with the NOJV processes including Reporting, Annual Planning Cycle, Budget, Governance, Others. 
• Support the process of risk management, ensuring it is properly assessed and controlled across the respective NOJV under her/his responsibility.
• Ensure that transparent and timely information is provided to JV Heads and Asset President NOJV in the different dimensions of the role
• Ensures best practice sharing across NOJV and BHP 
• Participate on Independent Peer Review Process for the Non-Operated Joint Venture.

About You

• University degree in Mining Engineering.
• At least 15 years of proven experience in Mine Engineering, Planning and Mine Operations roles, with desirable experience in capital investment processes, including mine expansions, equipment lifecycle, and budgeting.
• Experience in consulting firms as mining expert (desirable but not exclusionary).
• Experience in safety and critical risk management processes
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
• Spanish and/or Portuguese (desirable but not exclusionary)
