About the Role

 

  • Defines project objectives/schedules, identifies critical activities, monitors the project plan/schedule and drives continuous improvement initiatives across projects at BHP.  
  • Develops, predicts/forecasts and benchmarks project costs and estimates in line with industry standards, principles and practices.  
  • Develops safe project delivery and contractor performance strategies to maximise portfolio value and enhance improvement and innovation.  
  • Develops and communicates insights that guide data driven action and decision making.  
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.  
  • Mitigates people, community, human rights and modern slavery, environmental and climate risks across the value chain, in alignment with public policy and our sustainability and climate commitments.  
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence-based decision making.  
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.  
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.  
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs. 

About You

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business (Finance or Accounting), Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • Relevant experience with a Tier 1 management consulting company is highly desirable.
  • Project Management certification
  • Data analytics certification
  • Proven experience in cost management for complex capital projects or portfolios.
  • Experience in developing and implementing project management strategies and standards at an enterprise or program level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Exposure to global Project Controls practices, innovation, and emerging technologies.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement and embedding lessons learned across projects.
