About the Role


BMA Rehabilitation currently oversees closure works across all of BMA operated open cut operations. Reporting to the Rehabilitation Superintendent you will oversee all Rehabilitation activities. This role will see you provide leadership for the execution of construction strategies, standards/ frameworks and integration across a project to ensure delivery in line with the approved statement of requirements and to ensure the safety, productivity and engagement of all project team members.

In this role, you will have a focus on safety, build productive relationships and take accountability.

This role will be based at Peak Downs Mine on a 7/ 7day shift roster, offering flexible travel arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Lead your team in the delivery of safe work practices that comply with the sites Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).
  • Implement statutory and company safety requirements
  • Review performance daily, weekly and monthly, identifying reasons for variance and determining actions to deliver the Project Schedule
  • Develops integrated project deliverables and integrates project work through interfacing with stakeholders and managing the successful execution of projects
  • Determines minimum quality requirements, executes quality management plans and reviews quality control activities to enable the achievement of quality objectives across BHP projects.
  • Monitors HSE compliance and applies appropriate methodologies/standards to deliver effective construction projects across BHP.
  • Defines project objectives/schedules, identifies critical activities, monitors the project plan/schedule and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitors and manages project performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope.
  • Manages contract execution and analysis to maximise operational and financial performance and mitigate exposure and risk
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.

About You


To be successful in this role you will hold a valid QLD OCE qualification and current Practicing Certificate. You will be an effective leader and a collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. Your strong desire to work with your team to ensure they are delivering their best will see you well placed for success. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must allowing you to build relationships across the team with other Supervisors and departments.

You will also have demonstrated success in project execution. You will have a strong safety focus and a passion to challenge the status quo and a focus on results whilst driving process improvements initiatives. You will also have a proactive attitude towards safety and be a team player.

You will be able to work effectively with a diverse range of people and be able to build capability through coaching and mentoring. Your experience with strong leaderships skills will set clear expectations for work planning, delivery, accountability and urgency.
