About the Role

 

We have an opportunity to join BHP’s UK team to provide expertise in Metals customer liaison and partnership development based in London UK as Principal Sales Liaison.

 

Core accountabilities:

 

  • Develop and manage operational and strategic Metals (copper concentrate and copper cathodes) customer relationships including negotiations and contract management.
  • Deep specific value chain knowledge and real-world commodity insights of evolving trends of copper concentrate and cathode market direction externally and BHP.
  • Ability to generate ideas for, and execute partnerships with customers in areas including sustainability
  • Provide insights on industry trends and market dynamics to drive enhanced decision making and planning.  
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions to support safe and productive performance outcomes.  
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.  

About You

You will have demonstrated experience with commodity sales and marketing activities in the global context. Experience in copper (concentrate and cathodes) is preferred 

 

You will be able to demonstrate strong business acumen, have an understanding of the key drivers of Metals market.

 

You will be able to work across different culture to bring together different perspectives under a common goal. You work well under pressure bringing attention to detail and an ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines.

Requirements:

 

  • English Proficiency. Other language skills (e.g. Spanish) will be a plus
  • Substantial resource related experience with a preference for commodity marketing.
  • Ability to work with technical and commercial subject matter experts and quickly grasp technical problems / complex issues and synthesise.
  • Proven ability to analyse and effectively communicate (written and oral) complex matters to a wider range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to build a strong rapport and credibility with internal stakeholders and external customers.
