About the Role
Reporting to the Asset Management Manager, this highly influential role is part of BHP’s Centre of Excellence (MECoE). The successful candidate is a key representative for MECoE Engineering in the Minerals Americas business. As such, the roles offers great exposure passed GT&S and wide stakeholder engagement with the Maintenance sub function of the MECoE .
In this role you will be joining a global team of driven engineering professionals striving to improve governance and technical stewardship in BHP through close working relationships with the assets. It plays an integral part in uplifting performance across our broad asset base through standardising best practices, enabling knowledge sharing, deploying enterprise systems and performing assurance and governance.
You will be part of a highly experienced and recognised team that drives global Engineering initiatives to unlock business wide opportunities, supports the management of critical risk and enables improved performance outcomes through:
- Developing and maintaining global standards and processes including Asset Integrity
- Identifying and driving governance and technical stewardship improvements.
- Supporting assets in developing and executing their asset integrity initiatives including closing out critical assurance actions.
- Maintaining and developing BHP global standards by leading and guiding global working groups.
- Collaborating with Group Risk and Audit teams to deliver assurance and reporting activities.
- Leading investigations into asset integrity related topics and support assets in resolving complex issues.
- Maintaining the frameworks that contain the relevant documents, systems and tools aligned with global standards.
- Maintain clase collaboration with the team in Australia and act as a conduit to the MinAm assets.
- Support the MinAm assets with access to technical expertise via establishing SME networks within the business.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or an aligned discipline.
- Relevant engineering or maintenance experience in the resource industry with a focus directly related to asset integrity is essential.
- Experience in the management of Material Risks and Critical Controls associated with asset integrity risks.
- Ability to engage in highly influential discussions with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Well-rounded communication and demonstrated experience building mutually sound and beneficial relationships across multiple groups.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to challenge and lead change.
- Ability to think conceptually and transform ideas into well-structured, tangible outcomes
- Any associated certification will be a plus
- Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.
