About the Role

 

Principal Value Chain Procurement provides domain category expertise in ensuring the business’s production technologyprocurement needs strategically match with the market, takes responsibility for supplier relationship management as well as administration of highly strategic contracts and engages with the team to track and monitor performance targets, including optimal cost of ownership and surety of supply.  

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Supports the development of innovative, value-driven multi-year category strategies by leveraging deep category knowledge, market intelligence, awareness of technological developments, emerging markets awareness and a detailed understanding of business needs
  • Develops strong relationships with internal business leaders and key stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate these into Procurement needs.
  • Develops sourcing strategies and supply solutions that balance stakeholder needs, productivity, commercial value and risk.
  • Leads the development of a sourcing plan aligned with category strategies and ensures contract coverage adequately supports business plans.
  • Executes higher value and criticality strategic sourcing projects and provides commercial coaching and guidance to stakeholders on sourcing projects and processes.
  • Leads supplier negotiations reviews market engagement strategies, negotiation plans and contract award recommendations.
  • Prepares and socialises contracts for internal endorsements and approvals.
  • Ensures capture of productivity improvements supporting measurement of team performance and scorecard.
  • Identifies and develops relationships with key suppliers and works with the business to design performance measures and track and manage performance for selected key suppliers against contract and business requirements.
  • Builds a continuous improvement pipeline of incremental value with key suppliers, managing the entire lifecycle of opportunities from ideation through to benefits realisation.

 

About You

 

The ideal candidate for this role needs to be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant experience in mining and oil and gas industries is preferred.
  • Significant experience in leading the end-to-end Source to Contract process across a number of sub-categories within.
  • Proven results in delivering recognised value and improving processes through influencing and negotiation.
  • Ability to analyse complex business processes and risk factors.
  • 12+ years of relevant industry experience with a focus on procurement.
  • Effectively work with a global, cross-functional team of peers, internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Application of sourcing techniques and strategies and knowledge of innovative sourcing methodologies such as TCO, “clean-sheeting”, e-auctions.
  • Proven instances of analysing complex business processes, risk factors and control systems.
  • Proficiency in SAP environment and GCMS(Bravo) contract management solution.
  • Advanced level of written and spoken English and Spanish.
