We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive candidate to join our Processing Production team as the Supervisor Processing Production at our South Flank operation.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Processing Production, you will be enabled to engage your team of Processing Technicians to safely operate our OHPs and Stockyards to ‘Rock 80+’. This position is central in directing a high performing team toward optimising safety, culture and productivity by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including IPRO, Supply Chain, Processing A&I, Mining, Fixed Plant Maintenance, and Shutdown Execution teams.

About this Role

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Foster our positive culture within your team to maintain a focus on identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement through reduced costs, maximising production, minimising down time and eliminating waste;
  • Have an overriding commitment to the sustainability of our inclusive and safety focused workplace culture;
  • Build partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with customers and key stakeholders across the operation;
  • Support and encourage strong levels of engagement to drive our site safety and performance;
  • Coach and mentor your team whilst supporting their development and professional goals;
  • Safely and proactively execute short term production plans to maximise equipment utilisation and achieve stretch targets;
  • Work closely with Processing Engineers, Processing Coordinators, and Fixed Plant Maintenance teams to ensure optimised, efficient product flow;
  • Support and manage the interface with South Flank Operations conducive to efficient stockyard balance machine and train load out utilisation.
  • Monitor and report against daily plan and escalate unplanned and non-routine activity or performance to the Superintendent


 

About You

 

As the ideal candidate you will have: 
 

  • Extensive work experience in a large scale processing plant is essential.  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills will support you in maintaining cross-departmental engagement and effective communication throughout multiple levels of the business from mining to port. 
  • Passion for inclusion and collaboration will help drive and support an already positive workplace environment. 
  • Strong people management abilities and be someone who can engage with people from various backgrounds and experience levels and enables the teams to question the norms and unlock potential to grow. 
  • To show equal respect to people at all levels and always portray a positive management shadow.
  • To liaise with a variety of stakeholders, it is important you are a confident verbal and written communicator.

In addition, your strong problem solving skills, as well as a high level of motivation and drive will assure you are able to support your team in identifying and delivering projects to optimise our operation in terms of Safety, Volume, Cost and Culture.

 

 

Location

 

This role is based at our South Flank operation.  You will reside at Mulla Mulla Village, BHPs flagship camp accommodation, and fly on chartered flights out of our Coondewanna airport.
