About the Role

This role will provide technology expertise in the choice and design of a solution for prioritized business problems in line with business requirements. It acts as a consultant and partner to the Domain Lead and project teams, connecting them with the possible technology solutions and articulating the potential value propositions to influence the choice of solution. This role is a key point of connection across the Domains and back into Technology to ensure a sustainable and harmonized technology roadmap and acceleration of technology adoption. 

Key accountabilities include:  

• Applies expert understanding of broad digital technologies with leaders and architects within the Domain to identify and select innovative solution options that best solve for the portfolio of projects and products. 
• Balances user requirements and project priorities to clearly define and gain alignment on the acceptance criteria for each story on the product roadmap. 
• Applies an understanding of BHPs technical landscape, technical best practice and guardrails ensuring that secure, well-designed solutions are selected that fit with BHP’s technology stack choices and enterprise technology ecosystems. Ensures solutions are designed to be sustainable and lifecycle managed by Technology. Co-create the architecture with Technology.  
• Reviews technology solutions against BHP architecture guardrails and identifies/recommends viable solutions reusing architecture guardrails to speed up Technology delivery. 
• Collaborates and builds relationships to source information and conduct analysis to support evidence-based decision making.   

About You

You are:

You have: 

• Bachelor's degree equivalent in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Data Science, or a related field is preferred. 
• Extensive experience working with IT/OT systems, preferably at BHP or a large organisation.  
• Experience advising / consulting senior leaders.  
• Experience in designing solutions for the relevant Domain.  
• Experience with innovative business problem solving using technology.  
• Ability to lead solution architects, ensuring quality, delivery and alignment of output.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, is required. While not mandatory, fluency in Spanish is a definite plus!
