About the Role

 

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a Project Manager to join Copper South Australia - Major Projects.
 

The roles are Adelaide-based and will oversee the full investment cycle from study phase through to project completion. including optimizing value for BHP, ensuring capital efficient and predictable investments. You will guide and support the investment team, delivery team and delivery partners through project and discipline engineering, along with your expertise and a deep understanding of project processes to provide desired outcomes for the Major Projects team.  
 

You will have the opportunity to drive and contribute to the following activities:


•    Provide support to the study project management, and functional teams across the project lifecycle.
•    Responsible for investigating options, assessing against agreed criteria, and delivering solutions based on a deep understanding of the business and project lifecycle, incorporating MAP principles.
•    Supporting fast track schedule with timely assessment and decision making
•    Identify and engage with a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
•    Contribute to delivering designs that align to BHP and Australian Standards and Codes and hold the Engineering Service Providers accountable to manage all design risks.
•    Contribute and support all sustainability and safety in design processes across the project development (HAZID / HAZOP / HAZAN etc.)
•    Contribute to verifying facility construction methodologies are in alignment with project standards, and relevant documentation.
•    Review project performance and adapt plans, altering cost, timing or quality constraints in line with agreed stakeholder expectations to continually maximize the value across the project.
•    Anticipate and address risks, variances and quality issues across the project by making risk informed decisions utilizing proactive change management before they impact project delivery.
•    Provision of relevant assessment documents, technical notes and deliverables to capture decisions, including solid document management processes.

About You

 

You are self-starting, lead by example, anticipate issues and facilitate resolution.  You sponsor and support development of fit-for-purpose designs that optimize early enabling outcomes to support shutdown and major construction projects. A professional with a reputation built upon integrity and timely delivery.

 
You are strategic and organized with demonstrated project knowledge and a passion for getting outcomes that benefit both business and community. With your proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, you will enjoy playing an integral role in influencing value across BHP. 

 

In addition, to be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following:


•    Multidisciplinary capacity to interface with relevant providers and stakeholders  
•    A strong understanding of major project management phases across the full project lifecycle with respect to capex and project engineering requirements
•    In depth experience in working with engineering service providers
•    Ability to support fast track program of enabling works.
•    Experience working in large multi-functional team and management and interface to project and discipline engineering teams
•    Demonstrated capability with persuasive stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to influence and build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
•    Lead Role, Engineering, project management or equivalent qualifications.
•    All roles, amenable to site travel.
•    Major projects experience exceeding A$ 1 billion
