About the Role
- Contributes to delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis for the Group and its assets, while applying appropriate judgement and estimates to safeguard the integrity of financial statements, maintain legal financial requirements, and guide financial activity.
- Conducts timely and accurate reporting to drive insights that enable internal and external customers to make informed decisions.
- Prepares internal reports or external financial statements in alignment with professional accounting, statutory, and internal requirements.
- Draws insights and conclusions from analysis to recommend a course of action or provide guidance consistent with available facts and information.
- Maintains expected standards and processes to drive quality and establish a foundation for continuous improvement. Recognises and removes obstacles preventing successful change and improvement.
- Experiments with better ways of working and learns from mistakes. Evaluates information from multiple sources to identify and resolve root causes.
- Takes personal accountability for actions and performance, persisting and working diligently to deliver against plans and stretch targets.
- Seeks out and assesses how work impacts team and company priorities.
- Works with a clear view of customer needs, measuring success through stretch goals and metrics. Adapts plans to changing conditions and context, and identifies and shares new risks and opportunities with the team.
- Listens actively and clearly conveys information and updates, using appropriate communication methods to ensure others’ understanding of context, purpose, objectives, resources, and timeframes.
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Our Requirements, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
- Demonstrate overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
- Support month end reporting deliverables (monthly, quarterly and yearly activities, reconciliation and financial statements commentary/analysis) within identified group reporting calendar timeline.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must hold a valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Preferably with experience in regulatory submissions or related work.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively while delivering results as required.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP; experience with automation tools is a plus.
