Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.

About the Role

 

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a skilled Repairables and Warranty Specialist for the site Maintenance teams. The role is a day work roster and will report to the Warehouse Superintendent.

The work involved will use your technical skills, Contractor management and business acumen. You will be a focused self-starter that has a drive for cost effective quality repairs and is able to build effective working relationships across all levels and areas of the operation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Forecast, plan and schedule repairable component overhauls. 
  • Review current work in progress (WIP) against plan. 
  • Report on the overall health of the Repairable and Warranties process. 
  • Manage the document storage for MDR, ITP and strip reports. 
  • Review scopes of repair and supporting quotations from contracting partners. 
  • Perform vendor inspections and assess the scope of repair and quality for critical component rebuilds. 
  • Liaise closely with Work Management Planning, Maintenance Execution and Inventory Planning functions. 
  • Provide condition assessments on major components due for change outs. 
  • Identify short range trends in asset performance and recommend preventative work. 
  • Provide support by processing and managing warranty claims within 1SAP. 
  • Manage the life cycle of Service Exchange components within BHP ensuring the core is returned for credit. 

 

Some travel required as regular vendor visits will need to be attended around the Hunter Valley and Newcastle. 

About You

 

  • You will have extensive experience or knowledge of inventory management within 1SAP.
  • Purchasing experience is desired. 
  • You will be very process and systems driven.
  • You will have extensive experience or knowledge of the 1SAP Work Management process.
  • Component overhauls of fixed plant and mobile plant would be beneficial.
  • You will have a good understanding or technical knowledge of an Offsite Overhaul or Repairable process.
  • Experience in Mining, Oil or Gas is desired. Experience with heavy equipment in other industries will also be considered.
  • You will have proven ability to work autonomously across multiple teams and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Able to travel as required to workshops.
  • Vendor management skills and experience in contract management would be beneficial.
