About the Role

 

To execute defined technical remuneration and benefits as support to stakeholders within Global Functions or Operations in partnership with onshore Reward SMEs. 

 

To lead and execute operational reward activities (cyclical and business-as-usual) that sit within the Reward Operations (RO) remit and other ad hoc Reward activities necessary to support the business in general and may vary depending on the pillar/asset assignment.

This role will be responsible for:

 

Reward Operations

 

  • Provide support in RO’s regular operational activities such as case management, job grading, remuneration and benefits administration relative.
  • Following the Reward Operations Support model, acting as tier 2 or 3  support for inquiries and other Reward related queries. Where needed, provide references to internal or external salary data, and provide additional insights on applicable local entity policies. and well established market practices
  • Answer remuneration and benefits enquiries from employees and business leaders in relation to the application of BHP remuneration philosophy, policies and frameworks.
  • Lead and/or execute end to end market data analysis for salary scale midpoints  recommendation and market data submissions.
  • Execution of the organization's benefit programs as applicable or as assigned (e.g. leave, wellness programs, insurance etc.), including but not limited to managing vendor relationships, benefits enrolment, contract renewals, contract compliance, and distribution processes.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to address process gaps, changing business landscape within the clearly define remit, act as a channel to our local reward SMEs on challenging or complex reward topics and partner with stakeholders to arrive at a resolution.
  • Perform reporting analysis for internal and external remuneration reporting requirements
  • The role may  step up  as a focal person and/or Pillar lead for asset or task specific RO processes as part of developmental plan. 

 

Project Management 

 

  • May act as a co-project lead on a defined project reward initiatives, and in partnership with various stakeholders. Driving the accomplishments of target milestones in full, and within agreed terms and timelines.
  • May assume Deputy Lead role to cyclical and adhoc projects including but not limited to ARR, Labor Budget Assumption (LBA), Market Data Submission and Analysis (MDA).  
  • Co-leads Reward Execution (RE) workstream of the Annual Reward Review (ARR), covering its limited   cycle of activities.
  • Drives the timely completion of key ARR milestones. Flagging priorities and escalations and working with relevant groups to come up with solutions to challenges and to ensure that project deliverables remain on track.  
  • Works closely with ARR Project Manager in providing regular updates to the RLT/Head of GBS HR Operations and the local Reward teams. 

 

Continuous Improvement 

 

  • Champion a continuous improvement culture in RO and propose initiatives to RO process, consistent with best practices. Working with the RO and HR teams for the successful implementation of CI endeavors. 
  • To plot, maintain, and monitor or ideas, continuous improvement initiatives, PS, and RCA of RO team in Kainexus or other applicable systems/platforms. 

 

Others 

 

  • Champion the values of the Organization by demonstrating the same in the workplace, exuding professionalism and respect, and ensuring compliance to Company policies.  
  • Ability to process high volume, clearly defined transactions.
  • May be assigned with other related reward activities, if any.  
  • To provide support to Reward Operations team and/or People Systems Team during BCP situation or in time of business crisis or capacity crisis.

About You

 

  • Degree or equivalent education or experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable with automation related tools (i.e. Power BI, Power Apps).
  • Proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • With experience on process improvement on big data.
  • With experience in handling payroll on shared services environment.
  • Has an ability to analyze information from various sources to find the root cause of problems.
  • Eager to learn and try out new ways of doing things
  • Must be willing to report on-site 3 times in a week.
  • Basic understanding of HR practices and compensation/ remuneration cycle management.
  • Basic organization and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple and parallel activities, and competing priorities.
