About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic team members to join our BHP Security & Emergency Operations Centre Team.
This role will be based in Perth and you must have the ability to work a 24/7, 12 hours shifts, rotating roster (including nights, weekends, and public holidays).
BHP’s Security and Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) is a communications hub dedicated to assisting BHPs security and emergency response teams on the ground at numerous BHP sites. Located in Perth SEOC plays a critical role in supporting the safety and security of our people and operations across Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO). We are seeking proactive and detail-oriented SEOC Controllers to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact in emergency and security-related events, coordinating timely responses across multiple BHP sites. You’ll be part of a high-performing team operating in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment where communication, situational awareness, and decision-making are key.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and assess emergency and security communications across BHP sites and accommodation areas in real time

Receive, triage and escalate incoming calls related to incidents, emergencies, and operational disruptions

Coordinate with site-based security, emergency response, and medical teams to ensure timely and effective responses

Utilise various systems including CCTV platforms, radio networks, and emergency management software

Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all events and incidents

Support scenario-based training and continuous improvement activities within the SEOC

Contribute to a positive team culture that prioritises safety, collaboration, and accountability
About You
You are calm under pressure and thrive in high-tempo environments. You possess strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise multiple demands while maintaining accuracy. You may have experience in security operations, emergency services, control room settings, or similar environments.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential

Proven experience in security or dispatch/control room environments

Proven experience in an emergency, medical or first aid response environment

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow critical procedures

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work a 24/7, 12 hours shifts, rotating roster (including nights, weekends, and public holidays)
