About the Role

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

 

The Backfill department is responsible for the production and delivery of Cement Aggregate Fill (CAF) material required to support our underground operations. With one of the biggest cement plants in Australia and a state-of-the-art Paste Plant approved for construction, it’s an exciting time to join the team and grow your career!

 

The Senior Technician CAF Plant leads a small but high performing team to produce fill material that meets technical requirements and our production schedule. The role is a key interface between our coordinators and supervisors, delivery drivers, CAF Plant Technicians, maintainers, and various suppliers.

 

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 dayshift and nightshift roster arrangement, with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available.

About You

  • Experience operating a process plant or other heavy industry control system is essential
  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Experience in maintaining and monitoring a clean and safe operating environment
  • Understanding of safe work procedures and preparation of equipment for maintenance 
  • Ability to interpret and make decisions based on data within a busy environment 
  • A proactive team member with confident communication skills
  • Experience in technical fault finding
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance and current WHS legislation
  • Previous shift work experience (preferred)
