About the Role

Responsible for management and maintenance of data & analytics products, this role is accountable for various activities including data extraction, transformation, modelling, data visualization to enable the organization to make better people decisions based on data and analytics

  • Manages and maintains dashboards, visualizations and data models as part of the management of a portfolio of data & analytics products.
  • Supports ongoing insight analytics product management, business intelligence and reporting teams and product lifecycle activities associated with data and analytical assets.
  • Designs and implements innovative improvements to analytics & dashboard products to meet the needs of the business.
  • Develops and manages dashboards using Power BI and other visualization products in accordance with the data and visualization standards.
  • Contributes to the development of the product maintenance strategy and roadmap.
  • Communicates with stakeholders across the board to make sure the goals are clear, and the vision is aligned with business requirements. 
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across BHP to understand business problems, gather improvement requirements, recommend and implement innovative solutions to data and visualization products.

Accountabilities

  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given parameters.
  • Coaches and conducts training to enhance knowledge and analytics competency of the team.
  • Ensures data quality and integrity through build and testing procedures.
  • Extracts data from databases and transforms data for reports, dashboards and visualizations.
  • Identifies and assesses risks, making risk informed decisions, using BHP's risk management framework and building a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes. 
  • Applies an understanding of the business context and ways of working to contribute to the team’s overall outcome and performance.
  • Takes ownership of key pieces of development projects partnering with junior team members within a multi-skilled project team
  • Liaises with the Lead to evaluate business queries and requests.
  • Uses, stores, classifies, assesses and processes data/metadata in alignment with BHPs standards and requirements for data quality management, integrity and governance.  
  • Defines and structures complex business problems to understand what can be addressed using analytics, designs analytics solutions and accesses and cleans data to prepare it for the analysis process.  
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extracts and transforming data using various ETL methods.
  • Ensures products are built as per defined requirements.
  • Supports testing phase to product testing results including but not limited to unit testing, integration testing, acceptance testing.

About You

  • Extensive experience of relevant analytics experience
  • Experience using data visualization tools.
  • Experience with PowerBI
  • Experience with relational databases & SQL
  • Experience with Python
  • Exposure to Snowflake and Sagemaker preferred.
  • Proficient in data collection, data organization, analysis, visualization and presentation of data
  • Ability to optimize dashboards with significant volumes of data.
  • Strong technical design skills
