About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability, you will be required to provide technical integrity support and sustainable solutions for the broader operations and engineering community Olympic Dam. You will ensure compliance to all relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements, whilst also applying engineering principles, tools, and techniques to identify and prioritise the major risk to safety or production loss/high-cost contributors for the process plant equipment across our Olympic Dam operations. You will interface with a diverse group of stakeholders and departments where you will need to be able to demonstrate your problem solving ability and influencing skills to identify right-fix solutions and support the ongoing integrity of the operations.
In this role you will:
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety by actively engaging in time in field & Field Leadership.
- Be embedded into the operational routines to understand the voice of the customer(s).
- Review and analysis inspection reports and fixed plant maintenance strategies and provide recommendations for corrective actions to maintain integrity to area equipment owners.
- Advise on repair, remediation and mitigation methodologies for damage mechanism's
- Complete Corrosion rate assessment & estimations & Undertake fitness for service assessment level 1 & 2
- Undertake remaining life assessments - API 581, API 653, ANSI B31.3 and AS3788
- Conduct thorough problem solving and investigations (RCA) into plant performance issues and implements sustainable solutions to mitigate risk and eliminate defects.
- Exercise a proficient level of technical knowledge and expertise to independently make informed decisions and provide integrity engineering support to execution.
- Improve the performance and capability of the fixed plant equipment, through leadership of technical personnel in engineering disciplines and reliable decision making
- Contribute to the development of the site's five year capital and operational budgets through project scope development and management.
- Identify and assess risks, makes risk informed decisions, using our risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Foster effective and productive working relationships across all internal and external stakeholders.
- Drives a continuous improvement mind-set by actively identifying, developing, and delivering improvement opportunities and initiatives to eliminate waste.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials or Corrosion Engineering, or relevant demonstrated industry experience.
- Sound understanding of Integrity Engineering principles with previous experience in aligned industries including mining, oil & gas, chemical or heavy industry
- 5+ years of industry experience working with pressure vessels, boilers, piping.
- Experience in NDT selection & inspections, ACIP in-service inspection is desirable.
- Communicate effectively and clearly to cross functional stakeholders such as production, maintenance & engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
- Highly engaged, collaborative and committed to building mutually beneficial relationships across functional teams.
- Have strong operating discipline and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience identifying risks, conducting risk analysis, risk prioritisation and controls to monitor and manage risks to enable the achievement of project outcomes.
- Experience in operating systems including SAP, work management and the BHP Operating System will be an advantage.

This role is based in Adelaide South Australia on a Monday - Friday role with fortnightly site travel to Olympic Dam.
