About the Role
The Mine Geology Department of BHP Western Australia Iron Ore is looking for a Senior Geologist to join the Tactical Modelling team.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Tactical Modelling, you will join a committed team responsible for the update and delivery of resource models used to inform the short to medium term mine plans. The position is based in Perth and offers flexible working arrangements between the Perth office and home. The role also includes occasional site visits, typically lasting 1-2 days.
About You
The successful candidate will play a key role in the Tactical Modelling team. To perform well in this role, the candidate should possess the following attributes:

Comprehensive knowledge and experience in geological modelling and grade control modelling or resource estimation.

Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard mining software applications, i.e.. Vulcan and Leapfrog.

Understands quantitative methods for communicating geological uncertainty, risk, and opportunity

Experience in iron ore is preferred; however, substantial experience in other commodities will also be regarded favourably.

Proficient in data assessment with an ability to interpret complex datasets.

Demonstrates problem-solving skills to resolve tasks efficiently and efficiently.

A track record of successfully guiding teams through change

Tertiary qualifications in Geoscience or similar
