About the Role
We are currently seeking the talents of a dynamic and technically skilled Senior Mine Geologist to join our team. This will be a FIFO role on a 5:2 and 4:3 roster.
Reporting to the Superintendent Geology Mining, in this key position you will drive the technical development of the Mine Geology team. Key responsibilities will include:
• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
• Coordinating the collection, analysis and interpretation of geological data
• Directing the delivery of best practice grade control and mining geology core routines
• Ensuring the timely and accurate flow of information from the Geoscience and Exploration Mining Geology function into all customer groups including Production, Scheduling, Mine Planning and Processing
• Driving the development and delivery of continuous improvement initiatives across the function
• Review all outputs from Mine Geologists and action corrective measures to ensure that the highest technical standards are maintained
• Coaching and mentoring of Mine Geologists
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a skilled Geological expert with advanced stakeholder engagement skills and the desire to deliver meaningful and impactful work. You are team oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in working with others to achieve results.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following specific skills and experience:
• Degree qualified in Geology, Geoscience or equivalent
• Adaptive, technical leadership skills
• Expert data investigation and problem solving skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
• Demonstrated skills using 3 dimensional mapping software (Vulcan, Leapfrog, ARCGIS)
• Skilled in Geological reconciliations, QA/QC, Grade control etc
