About the Role
Reporting to Superintendent Production Planning & Services, this role will see you seeking opportunities in the medium-term plan that provide optimal results for the mine. The Senior Production Planner will play an instrumental role in the development of Planning Engineers through coaching and mentorship as well as being fundamental in the delivery of the Mine Plan for one of the largest underground copper mines in the world.
This position is based at Adelaide on a Monday-Friday basis with occasional site travel to Olympic Dam.
In this role you will:

Deliver a sustainable 3 month rolling production plan whilst monitoring and responding to compliance to plan, maintaining a focus on critical path activities

Set and communicate key Mine priorities and messages

Coach the team to identify and manage risk to the mine plan from a safety and productivity perspective

Mentor and guide other planning engineers within the team to inform a sustainable plan

Be a safety leader, demonstrating your commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility

Be the link with operational Managers and Superintendents to drive mine plan performance and solve for operational business risk to plan

Challenge and review planning inputs to be used during planning cycles

Identify functional capability gaps and drive improvement

Provide feedback to Short Term Scheduling and Engineering functions to improve future execution plans, designs, schedules and forecasts

Build and maintain close working relationship with Engineering sub-functions
About You
-
Mining Engineering degree or similar
-
Significant mining experience and detailed understanding of the underground mining cycle

Experience in sub level open stoping mining method will be advantageous

Previous supervisory or scheduling experience

Experience using Microsoft Office suite, Deswik Suite including Deswik Sched
-
Experience in Lean Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints will be advantageous
-
Ability to work collaboratively across different work groups and proactively engage with a range of stakeholders including senior levels of management
